Must be knowledgeable about behavioral health levels of care, community resources, and psychiatric inpatient acute care criteria. Computer skills are required. Comfort and experience facilitating individual, group, and family therapy or psychoeducation a plus. Background working with managed care and insurance pre-certification a plus. This position is responsible for coordinating all admissions to the inpatient psychiatric program, assessing referrals to the program for the most appropriate level of care, coordinating with hospital and community professionals, and making referrals for optimal community adjustment when inpatient admission is no indicated. This position will be responsible for fielding all referral and crisis calls, conducting pre-admission screenings and admission assessments, and for developing the initial treatment plan. This position will also be responsible for conducting insurance precertifications and/or initiating the coordination of additional financial resources/assistance for the uninsured or underinsured as appropriate. Proven experience in crisis intervention techniques and in facilitating individual, group, and family therapy or psychoeducation is a must. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the DSM, experience with dual diagnoses, the recovery model, EMTALA, and trauma informed care. |
